I agree with Max; excellent idea, but you could be a bit more specific. For example, in regard to 'new nations', are you referring to nations just starting to develop in the 20th century? This part is a little confusing.
You will need to clarify your objective. Are you examining how imperialism led to independence movements or how imperialism continued to impact even after independence? Once you've narrowed your topic, identify the time period and countries/regions under examination.
Good question, you could specify what kind of imperialism and what nation was carrying out the imperialist qualities.
