What were the similarities and differences between the spread of Islam in the Middle East and Central Asia in the 20th century?

  1. Good question! I suggest splitting the paper into sections of similarities and sections of differences in order to keep it organized.

  2. I think the topic should definitely be open ended enough to argue, however I think you should specify it a little more to a certain region that particularly showed strong similarities and differences in those areas.

  4. Islam was already present in both the Middle East and Central Asia long before the 20th century. If you want to look at diffusion of the faith, I would examine a different time period. Or you could look at the influence of Islam on politics, society, or economies of the regions. Finally, make sure to specify countries in each region.
