Historical Question

How did the Berlin Conference in the 1800's effect the United States and their view on imperialism today?

  1. I like the essence of your question. However, I also feel that it's entirely too vague. The effects of the Berlin Conference were extensive and almost too general to cover in a single response.

  2. I agree with Maggie, I like the topic you chose but I feel as though the topic is too broad to focus into for an essay. There's a lot of ground to cover.

  3. Your question is very interesting, but your question could be improved by stating the exact year that the Berlin Conference took place. Also, you may want to narrow down to a specific place that was affected by the conference, like Sub-Saharan Africa.

  4. This is a good question, but I think to make it more of a discussable question, you could narrow it down from just the Berlin Conference itself to a subject of the Berlin Conference, such as the dividing up of Africa.
