Therefore, this article explains that the innovation in companies is increasing competition rates among several companies. Furthermore, the workers of Apple are worried because they're products are being caught up to be the rising Samsung phones, as they are becoming more and more innovative themselves. They faster you innovate the faster your products is bought, considering that in this day of age, people want the biggest and the best product, with the most capabilities offered. Finally, this article refutes Tapscott's belief because most companies are now in debt to enable the latest and greatest technology update, and sales for other very useful products have gone down because of a more innovative products rise into the market.

  2. Sustainable Innovation, Part I
    http://rendezvous.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/08/13/sustainable-innovation-part-i/
The article discusses new inventions that are innovating the future. The article provides explicit examples of inventions, such as the Cardboard Coffin, which is made out of 60 percent cardboard and weighs only 22 pounds. However, members of the “Net Generation” don’t want Cardboard Coffins or Reusable Bamboo Towels, they want the latest gadgets that are going to allow them to become more equipped and ready for jobs in career fields that require them to be in constant awareness as to what is occurring and when. This makes it that the article directly refutes Tapscotts eighth Norm on innovation. Throughout Tapscotts discussion on Innovation he constantly reiterates that Net Geners want, “…the latest and greatest product available…” (Tapscott 95). Which creates a direct refute against the article because the article discusses new innovations that are saving trees, while the book states that this generations members want only the best electronics money can to buy. All in all, the article and the book show completely different views as to what the “Net Generation” definition of innovation is.

  3. "Worrying Less About Teens, Texting and Social Media"
    http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/01/09/worrying-less-about-teens-texting-and-social-media/
This article discusses the concerns of parents regarding the changes that their kids are experiencing through texting and social networking. The rapid changes through the technology scares the parents because it is unfamiliar to them. In "Grown up Digital", Tapscott describes the change in innovation from sluggish to rapidly fast. From the radio to the small, black and white TV to todays weekly cellphone and TV updates. These relate to each other because they both describe the huge difference in the improvement of technology.

  4. "Russia Plans to Promote Technology Innovations"http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/04/business/global/04ruble.html

In Tapscott's eighth norm of "Innovation", he describes how innovative and futuristic technology is necessary to progress and keep the wheels of time turning. He discusses how corporations and nations need progressive and innovative products and ideas to stay. This article focuses on innovations not in the United States, but Russia. The finance minister Aleksei L. Kudrin discusses how investments should be transferred from importing to domestic development of greater technologies and products in Russia. He does reflect on the risks involved in such a leap, but states that modernization must keep Russia up to speed and functional. Tapscott parallels these ideas with his thoughts. He describes how the modern US must alter itself and continue to update in multiple departments so that it may function properly and essentially perpetuate its existence with the upgrades from technology.

Tapscott's eight norm is innovation. He points out that technology is changing quickly, using cell phones as an example. He states in the example that new cell phones come out as soon as every couple of weeks. The generation wants to stay current and up to date in their electronic devices. As a result, they want to own the newest model of a certain device available. The article relates to and reinforces Tapscott's argument. It explains how a new library is going to open in San Antonio, Texas. The library, instead of having hard copies of books and other material, will be all digital. It will contain devices and gadgets to access the material digitally instead. This is one of the first digital-only libraries. The judge explains how the world is changing in terms of technology and how this is a great opportunity for digital growth. This relates to Tapscott's norm of innovation because it is an example of how rapidly the world is changing technologically.

  6. "Is Technology Good or Evil?"
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/daniel-burrus/is-technology-good-or-evi_b_1826270.html

Throughout Tapscott's book, he discusses the effects of technological advances, particularly on children and teens of the digital age. Through his norms, he expresses that these effects can either be detrimental or beneficial. The students will either be predisposed to cheating, or more able to express themselves.

This article touches on these ideas and relates to the idea that technology has a good side and an evil side.

But, regardless, technology is innovational, and advances in this field are inevitable.
